#Chapter 57 - Remember This Place?

I had built the courage up to text Stella the night I got home from the cafe. My mother’s words rang true in my ears, a warning that I should not end things on a sour note with someone who may be of help to me in the future.
Stella agreed to see me, thinking that we’re going to talk about terms of the divorce. While that is partially true, this is a way for me to gain her forgiveness while hoping that things will end amicably instead of being hostile.
I stand outside her apartment building, leaning against my car. The day is bright and hot, the summer weather coming in full force despite the few weeks of cool breezes and chilly nights.
Stella exits the lobby and approaches me. I push off of the car and open the passenger side for her, helping her inside before moving to the drivers seat. I get inside and start the car, glancing at her comfortable yet relaxed outfit.
