Chapter 1913
Jaco City was at the height of its festivities, yet Perseus found the streets strangely deserted upon his arrival.
He drove to Jolene's house using a car he prepared beforehand.
Before the New Year, Hestia had moved into Jolene's home.
Holding gifts in his hands, Perseus entered the courtyard and yelled toward the second floor. "Ms. Laurier, Happy New Year!"
To his surprise, Jolene opened the windows on the second floor and stared at him coldly. "I didn't expect you to come."
There wasn't a trace of delight on her face, and she even seemed a little angry.
Perseus was dumbfounded. He didn't know what to do.
He had always believed he and Jolene were on good terms, recalling his arduous journey to Jorland to save her. He couldn't understand her sudden coldness after just a few days of absence.
Perseus could only put the gifts on the ground as he beamed. "Ms. Laurier, I've come to visit you."
Jolene was beautiful, but her temper left much to be desired.
