"I wouldn't dare, sir!" Mary's face drained of color with fright as she immediately prostrated herself to the ground and groveled before Perseus' feet. She knew all too well what Perseus was capable of. He might spare their life, but he would make sure their life was a living hell.
Perseus scoffed, took a drag of his cigarette, and said, "You better not try any of your little games with me. You ought to know how I operate. You'll at least eat and have a roof over your head if you serve me obediently. You better not blame me for what happens next if you dare disobey me, though. I'll need you to stay in Jorland for now.
"I need oil, a constant stream of it. I need you to deliver it all to Xancent; I'll have someone get in touch with you about it. You'll be able to live as long as you deliver the oil. You might even be able to live with some dignity if you deliver more of it. It's your call."
Having said that, Perseus paid Mary no further mind, as he had to leave for his fishing trip
