Chapter 2471
It wasn't long ago that a thick white fog settled near Paradise Isle. Then, all of a sudden, white fog emerged at Arcane Peak, blanketing the entire Canyon of Death. It seemed too convenient for such events to be mere coincidences.
Perseus even suspected that the presence he felt trailing him last night was quite possibly Egbert. He even thought that the person who had tried to brute-force his way through the arcane barrier could have been Egbert as well.
"You and I are father and son, Perseus. Is there truly nothing we can resolve by sitting down and conversing?" Egbert looked at Perseus, feeling a sudden sense of estrangement. He could sense Perseus' doubts and misgivings, but it had never been his intention to bring harm to Perseus, his own child.
Perseus slowly settled into his seat. "Go ahead, then. How did you get in touch with Liam? Why didn't you just get hold of me directly?"
Egbert stated gravely, "It was to avoid being seen. I didn't travel here unaccompanied this time.
