Heidi reached into her pocket and felt the small tin of mints she always carried. It was what she relied on during class to fight the urge to smoke, a stand-in to help her quit. With a soft click, the tin opened. She shook out a single white mint and popped it into her mouth, crushing it hard between her teeth.
