Chapter 22
Kingston's coat had gotten soaked that day at the hospital when Vivian's clothes got wet. After being discharged and returning home, she washed it by hand and hung it in the laundry room.
With a second chance in hand, Vivian felt some of her previous despair lift. She quietly encouraged herself as she mentally rehearsed how she would convince Kingston to buy Whitfield Group's shares.
She walked to the laundry room and froze, staring at the coat on the drying rack. It had shrunk considerably.
Vivian frantically took the coat down, checking it repeatedly to confirm it was indeed Kingston's. She stood there stunned. It seemed she had ruined it.
After a moment of chagrin, she pulled out her phone and searched online for solutions.
"How to fix a shrunken wool coat?"
Most of the posts were advertisements that offered no real solution. She could only take the shrunken coat to a dry cleaner.
The staff examined the coat's brand and politely refused her request.
