Chapter 38
The neighbor saw that Logan genuinely looked like someone who knew nothing; her face tightened with a disdain she didn't bother to hide.
She said, "You don't even know about something this big? What kind of boyfriend are you? You're the boss of a company, and you couldn't even bear to pay some money for the funeral? Figures that rich men are always the stingiest. No wonder Vivian doesn't want to marry you anymore…"
Vivian had other arrangements on the day of the wedding, so she had informed the neighbors in advance not to attend, saying the wedding had been canceled.
Eleanor cared a great deal about appearances, and Vivian didn't want them coming to watch a spectacle. She wanted Eleanor to at least be able to rest in peace.
Since her neighbor had brought it up, Vivian hurried out, not wanting too much to be revealed to Logan.
She opened the front door and stepped outside, cutting the neighbor off apologetically, "I'm sorry for disturbing you, Willow. I'll handle this myself."
