Chapter 63
She quickly typed out a line of text and sent it, then blocked Sloane entirely. When Sloane saw Vivian's reply, she drew in a deep, frustrated breath. She quickly typed a lengthy message, yet when she sent it, the system informed her that it had been rejected.
Sloane's pent-up anger boiled over. Logan's drunken calls of "Vivi" only made it worse, leaving her struggling to breathe.
A dull ache gnawed at her stomach, and she forced herself to take several deep breaths. Nothing could happen to her child. That was the only thing giving her the edge in her battle with Vivian.
Meanwhile, Vivian was wide awake, thoroughly disturbed by Sloane's message. She closed her eyes and silently counted sheep over and over, but the more she counted, the clearer her mind became.
Then her phone buzzed again, and her patience finally snapped.
Sloane just wouldn't give up. Even though she'd been blocked, she still managed to send a message from another number.
Vivian frowned and picked up her phone.
