Julian let out a cold chuckle.
His sharp, deep-set eyes were unreadable. “You really think I can't find her, huh?”
Owen sat back with a resentful sigh. “If you want to fire me, just say it. No need to pin some random crime on me.”
“I asked where Claire is.”
A sharp slam echoed through the room—Julian’s palm hitting the table.
His mood flipped in a heartbeat. One second he was calm and unreadable, the next, icy rage filled the air.
Owen's pupils flinched. But he quickly put on a brave face, looking like someone confident he had nothing to hide.
“I have no idea where she is. If you're saying I’m involved, you better bring proof, Mr. Archer.”
His words rang out firm and fearless.
