Chapter 6
With Harold's silent approval, Sierra kept pushing her luck.
"Pay up, Mrs. Jackson! Don't waste everyone's time any further. If anyone speaks up for her, I'll make you pay too!" she threatened.
My colleagues all turned on me, urging me to pay up.
I chuckled as I reached for my resignation letter.
However, Sierra thought I was laughing at her and got frustrated. "What? You're not going to pay up, and you still have the nerve to laugh at me? I'll get you fired, Mrs. Jackson!"
I tossed the resignation letter out with a flick of my wrist. "Don't trouble yourself. I'm quitting."
Harold was stunned. He didn't expect I'd be convinced so easily. However, since he intended to drive me out from the start, he took the letter and was about to sign it.
I stopped him and demanded, "Wait. Give me my unpaid salary for the past years before signing that, Mr. Atkins."
After all, he had been using the excuse that we were family to exploit me all these years. He had never paid me a salary once.
