  According to a website, relationships are eternal. The 'separation' is another chapter in the relationship. Often, letting go of the form of the relationship becomes a lesson in pure love much deeper than any would have learned had the couple stayed together. That sometimes, by losing a battle, you will always find a new way to win the war.
  In the case between Andrea and Ivan, those terms can actually be applied. That by their separation they had learned sufficient knowledge concerning true love.
