The sudden revelation hit me like a freight train. I stood frozen, unable to process what I had just heard.
I never would have imagined that, aside from Juliette and me, there was a third person who had been reborn.
And not just anyone, but Sophia. The very woman whose past entanglements with me had never been fully resolved.
"What do you mean, a previous life?" I feigned confusion, my tone quickly turning dismissive. "Don't pull that tired plot twist from some tacky romance novel. It's disgusting."
There was no way I could admit anything about being reborn. I didn't know if she had truly been reborn or if she was simply fishing for a reaction, trying to confirm her suspicions.
If she really had memories of our previous life, then things were about to get a lot more complicated.
Surprisingly, Sophia didn't get upset at my cold attitude. Instead, she stayed curled against me, her voice soft but certain. "Joshua, we've come this far. Hiding it now only makes it more obvious."
