Suddenly everywhere felt quite. Zara stared at Amir for a good five minutes. To say she was surprised will be an understatement. She opened her mouth to talk but it feels like something is pulling her. Did she just hear him utter the word 'Like' to her, or is it her ears that are deceiving her.

"Zara" Amir uttered breaking her out of her thoughts. Zara inhales a sharp breath, trying to compose herself.

"Are you practicing how to confess to the girl is your heart" she started, her lips curving up. Amir lunges his hands towards her but stop remembering it's inappropriate.

"I'm not practicing anything Zara, I like you"

"What?" She said mouth agape.

"Yes, I like you more than you could imagine" Amir muttered running his hands on his head. Amir is her best friend and also a brother to her, she didn't expect what she just heard.

Zara heaved out a sigh as she ended the call with Manal. What will she do now? She rakes her hands on her open hair groaning. Ya Allah make the situation easier for me. she silently prayed. A knock emerged from the door followed by Aunt Myrah's voice.

"Zara are you still sleeping?" the woman started in a not so high voice. Zara reach for her veil and tied it around her head. She doesn't normally leave her hair open, till it's necessary or when she washed it and wanted to dry it up with the natural wind.

"No Aunt, I'm coming" she ushered walking to the door and opened it revealing her aunt in a dashing outfit. Zara watched the woman from head to toe.

"Aunt you look so beautiful, what's the occasion?" she said with a wink. A smile made it way out of Myrah's lips.

"I know what you're thinking but my friend invited me to her baby shower, and I want to be present for all the preparations.

"Excuse me, where are we going?" Fawwaz asked when they're out of the building. Zara turned around with a glint of a smile on her face. "To cheer you up" she stated. Fawwaz took a step then stopped.

"Zara you know I have to go back to the office, I don't-" he couldn't complete his statement when Zara show a puppy face.

"Please I just want us to spend time together" she muttered.

"What did you say?" He asked when he couldn't comprehend what she said. Zara mentally scolds herself realizing what she just blurted out.

"No I was just saying we should get going," she said nonchalantly.

"Please" she pleaded. She doesn't know why she's pleading but she has this urge to cheer him up. He shouldn't be thinking about work every time, he should at least enjoy himself.
