Chapter 10

The moment Michael opened the door to the hospital ward, Jules' crying and Charlotte's nagging drifted into his ears. "It's all Eve's fault! She doesn't take care of the baby well on the daily, and now, she has straight up given up on him! Jules has such a high fever now!" Charlotte complained while holding Jules in her arms. "People like her were born selfish!" Trisha sat by the bedside, her face pale white. Tears fell down her face the moment she saw Michael enter the ward. "Mike, does Evie… still hate me? I don't care that she abducted me, but Jules is still so young. She still thinks the baby is hers, yet she treats him this way… Does she really hate Jules too?" Michael looked concerned. He felt irritated when he saw Jules' reddened face. He reached out to touch his forehead and flinched at how warm he was. Yet, Eve's disappointed gaze kept surfacing in his mind. "Eve wouldn't do anything to Jules." Michael defended Eve almost instinctively. Trisha cried even more after that.
