Chapter 144 Discarded After Use
As Janice and Audrey left the venue, Janice exhaled deeply, but the anger still simmered within her.
"Audrey, I think I finally understand," she muttered with frustration.
"You're really better off without that fool Cameron."
Macie's acting was so embarrassingly bad, and her attempt at a setup was painfully obvious. Yet Cameron fell for it again and again, and even demanded an apology from Janice. It was pointless to keep someone like him around.
Audrey gave her a soft pat on the back, her expression calm. "It's all in the past."
Hayden, walking on the other side, stood out in the dim light with his burgundy suit.
He turned and said to Audrey, "Audrey, you should head back to the office. The signing ceremony's over, but there's still a lot to wrap up."
Audrey nodded. This was more important.
Hayden's gaze shifted to the fuming Janice, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.
"As for Ms. Hogan," he said, his tone teasing, "I'll make sure she gets home safe. Don't worry."
