Chapter 23 Double Standards

Audrey wondered why she should explain to Cameron. She met his gaze and smirked. "What explanation? Otto ended up in the hospital from overworking on my project. What's wrong with my taking care of him? Meanwhile, you are getting all cozy with your sister-in-law first thing in the morning. Anyone who didn't know better would think you two spent the night together." Cameron was so furious at her words that he completely lost his composure. Since when did she become so sharp-tongued? He and Macie were innocent. Why did Audrey make it sound like they weren't? Suddenly, he reached out, grabbed her wrist, and tried to pull her along. Audrey tried to shake him off, but her efforts were in vain. As they walked away, Macie panicked and quickly claimed that she was feeling dizzy. Yet this time, Cameron ignored her.
