What a waste that he was not. He shook his head and said, “I’m sorry, Alice. I’m married.” Upon hearing that, Alice’s initially fervent gaze dimmed, and she released Zayn’s hand. She lowered her head and said sadly, “I’m sorry, Zayn…” Zayn waved his hand dismissively and replied, “It’s fine. There’s always something that ends up clouding our judgement.” Alice was so sad that she lost all her excitement for the rest of the journey home.
