Wanda's fingers tightened around her glass as realization hit. Her manager had mentioned seeing her with Denton at lunch. If that was true, then Hans definitely saw them too.
She didn't dare lie to him. Hans was even stricter with her than Spencer was.
And although it could be frustrating, it also meant he genuinely treated her like family. The way he looked out for her wasn't all that different from how he looked after Charlotte.
"It was that junior we met outside Aser College the other day—the one Charlotte and I ran into near the food trucks," she said quickly, setting down the glass and sitting with her back straight like a student waiting for a lecture.
"You should keep your distance from people you don't know much about. I'll run a background check for you," Hans replied without much emotion.
