Regina no longer bothered to hide her displeasure with Martha.
In the past, she would have held her tongue, but now that Raine was Martha's supposed lifeline, she suddenly found her courage.
Nancy cut in coldly, "Grandma is fair to everyone. If someone thinks she isn't, that's just their ambition talking."
"You!" Regina bristled, but Raine caught her arm and gave a small shake of her head. "It's alright, Mom. I think Nancy is right. Grandma treats us all the same."
Seeing Raine so understanding made Regina even more moved.
Martha closed her eyes, clearly exhausted. "Enough. All of you go home. I need to rest."

At the door, Irene returned to the bedside for a moment and pulled a small scented sachet from her pocket. "Grandma, I heard you weren't feeling well. So, I made this for you. I hope it helps you feel better soon."
