Chapter 391 You Do Not Have to Treat Me This Well
"You're the one who said it, remember? We're friends. Friends are supposed to help each other." Gideon fixed his dark eyes on Nancy.
Nancy tightened her grip on her knife and fork. She'd only said it to be polite, though being friends with Gideon wasn't necessarily a bad thing.
Gideon narrowed his eyes. "You weren't just saying that to be nice, were you?"
He'd hit the mark, and a flicker of guilt ran through Nancy. "Of course not. We're friends."
"So, we can go out to eat and hang out with each other?" Gideon asked.
Nancy's heart started to race. She hadn't thought that far ahead at all.
But since he'd already put it out there, she had no choice except to nod. "Yeah."
"Good." Gideon's lips curved, the faint smile making him look even more dangerously handsome.
Nancy lowered her head and focused on her steak.
A loose strand of hair slipped over her cheek. She had just lifted her hand to tuck it back when Gideon moved faster, his fingers brushing past as he gently swept the hair
