The phone kept buzzing, and Ethan Hunt, clearly agitated, pulled it out—only to see that familiar number again. He answered it without saying a word.
Emma Grace was desperate to keep Ethan from seeing what was on her phone. The screen had shattered, but she wasn’t sure if it still worked. Just when Emma thought he’d ignore her again, the call connected. She froze, unsure what to say. Silence stretched between them.
After a pause, she finally broke it. “Where are you? We need to talk.”
