Chapter 17
For some reason, Xavier's face remained expressionless. However, Yvette noticed a hint of vulnerability.
She coughed softly and begrudgingly walked over to hold his hand as they approached the banquet hall. Upon arriving at the entrance, she couldn't help but ask, "Have we met before?"
Xavier was seriously disappointed upon hearing her question. She truly remembered nothing about him.
Just when she thought that he wasn't going to answer, he broke the silence.
"We used to be classmates in high school. I was always sitting in the corner."
He wasn't one of the troublemakers sitting in the back row, or one of the model students up front that the teachers loved.
He was always gloomy and the easiest to overlook in class. Even his parents were always busy with work and had little time to pay attention to him.
At the time, Xavier would always live in his own little bubble. He barely reacted when other students came up to him to chat.
Even though he had decent looks, he wasn't memorable
