Two hours later, while I was busy handing over work, Michael texted me. "Bring in a cup of coffee."
He was extremely picky about the sugar-to-bitterness ratio. No one in the company but me could get it just right.
I sighed and went to make his coffee. However, I didn't expect to run into Natasha in the break room.
She smirked when she saw me. "Yvonne, you've really mellowed. I thought you'd barge into the office and catch us in the act."
As she spoke, she tilted her chin, showing off the fresh red marks on her neck.
"Is that so?" I said, lowering my eyes and picking up the coffee beans. "Want a cup? Blue Mountain—great flavor."
My calmness startled her. She looked me up and down like I was a strange creature.
"What are you showing off for? You think Michael won't divorce you?
"Let me tell you the truth. It was because of a joke I made that Michael agreed to marry you back then. Otherwise, why do you think you got the certificate but never had a real wedding?"
