Jane had just returned to the lounge when she saw the text from Alina. She tapped the screen to enlarge the photo. That was when she realized it was Evelyn. She and Alina had met at a gala. Thanks to her connection with Hugo, they'd quickly become good friends. Still, she just hadn't expected Evelyn to join her company. Jane thought for a moment before replying, "She's working as your assistant?" Alina's response came quickly. "No. She's a nepotism hire that the CEO forced on me. He claims she was his junior in college. She's just a college graduate, and she had the audacity to want to be a department head. Isn't that ridiculous?" Jane replied, "It is. She and I were college roommates. From what I know, she's only worked as an assistant for a few years and has no real skills. If you really don't like her, I have ways to help you get rid of her."
