Minerva leaned back in her seat and closed her eyes.
Rowena had always been obsessive by nature, and after being hurt so deeply by Benedict, instead of walking away, she chose to blame everything on Minerva—her own sister.
Lucas glanced over and saw the exhaustion etched across Minerva's face. A flicker of heartache passed through his eyes. Silently, he pulled out his phone and sent a message to someone.
After visiting Lucas' parents, he and Minerva flew to Orubia to meet with Noah and Emily. Once they had seen both sides of the family, they threw themselves into planning the engagement. Given their unique positions, they kept things simple.
