Pembroke had rushed to Clive's holding cell the second he saw Stiles' body. Things would be a lot more complicated if Clive died. Pembroke knew that Clive had been Landhor's right-hand man and had enough dirt on Landhor that Landhor would go down for good if Clive were to open his mouth. With Clive and Seamus dead, and Landhor refusing to say a word, this would quickly turn into a sticky situation.
