At the airline company, Tina and Kellan Sterling walked in one after the other. The employees inside worked methodically, only pausing briefly to acknowledge the two with slight nods before resuming their tasks. Kellan led the way to his office, pushing the door open and holding it ajar halfway. Tina glanced up sharply. Reading her expression, Kellan’s thin lips curved slightly. “I’ve got a surprise for you. Not coming in?” Tina cast him a fleeting look before stepping into the office. Kellan moved behind his desk, pulling a small black box from a drawer and placing it on the table. “I know you probably saw this five years ago, but unless you dig to the bottom of things yourself, you’ll never feel at ease.” Tina’s gaze fell on the black box, her eyes dark and unfathomable. It was true. She had agreed to become Kellan Sterling’s secret business partner for one reason: to uncover the original surveillance footage from the plane her Uncle had been on years ago.
