Chapter 15
Ronan's pupils constricted. It felt like a sledgehammer had slammed into his chest.
Marissa only laughed harder, her voice dripping with mockery.
"It was you who stood up for me in that meeting. You were the one who ditched Cassandra when she was in danger and saved me first.
"And you're the one who had her sent to detention just to make me feel better. This is all your fault!"
The air grew still for a few seconds. Then, Ronan laughed and released his grip on Marissa's throat.
"You're right. It was my fault," he said quietly, looking at her with murderous intent. "So, it's time to make it right."
Marissa didn't even have time to react before the bodyguards seized her. "Ronan, what are you doing? Let go of me!"
"Let go of you? No way," Ronan murmured near her ear, his tone cold and lethal. "I'm going to make you understand what it means to wish you were dead."
"Ah!" Marissa's screams tore through the villa, raw and hoarse.
