Chapter 18
After more than a month apart, Ronan looked much thinner. His jawline was sharper, and the emptiness in his eyes only flickered with light when he saw Cassandra.
"Cass, I finally found you." His voice was hoarse and exhausted, but his gaze on her was scorching. "I missed you. Didn't you miss me?"
"I really didn't," Cassandra said coldly. She raised her hand to shove him. "Let me go!"
The coldness in her eyes hit Ronan like a blade to the chest.
His jaw tightened. Veins stood out on his temple as he stubbornly held onto her hand. "Cass, come back with me."
"Go back with you?" Cassandra let out a cold laugh. "Go back and watch you protect Marissa, love her, and marry her?"
"I don't love Marissa!" Ronan tightened his grip on her hand. His eyes reddened. "The one I love is you!"
Cassandra froze for a moment, but the doubt in her eyes didn't ease.
