Chapter 5
The slap was so hard that it knocked Alyssa to the ground.
Not only did her face swell up quickly, but blood even flowed from the corner of her mouth!
Alyssa's ears were ringing.
She couldn't hear anything, and she couldn't see anything.
She touched her face with trembling hands. The moment she touched the palm print, tears streamed down her eyes.
This was the first time Enzo had raised his hand against her.
But before she could react, his figure quickly disappeared at the front door.
Alyssa took a deep breath and hurriedly got up from the ground to chase after him.
She was terrified history would repeat itself with Nadine's accident.
"Boom!"
One thunderclap after another, accompanied by heavy rain, washed over the world.
And in the rain, the tall man tightly held the petite woman in his arms.
Nadine struggled incessantly, her voice filled with despair: "Today is the most important day of my life, but she did this. How could I bear to stay there? Since she still misses you so much, I don't want to compete with a little girl. I might as well give you back to her..."
Enzo hugged her tighter: "No, Nadine, I will never fall in love with her. You know how long I've liked you. Rejecting me like this is sheer torture."
At the end, he leaned down to kiss her.
But the next second, a glaring car light came towards them from not far away.
Alyssa, who had just chased out, saw nothing but redness, completely frozen in place!
In the emergency room, the red light turned on.
Numerous doctors rushed to install medical equipment on Enzo for emergency treatment.
But Enzo didn't care about his own injuries and insisted they save Nadine first.
"But Mr. Slater, you are the one who is most seriously injured."
His voice was weak and trembling, "Don't worry about me, save her first..."
Unable to do anything, the doctor could only send the unconscious Nadine into the operating room first.
But soon, the doctor rushed out: "The patient suddenly started bleeding heavily. Who has Type A blood?"
Upon hearing this, Enzo ignored the nurse's persuasion and ran off the bed.
"I do, draw my blood!"
"But Mr. Slater..."
"Shut up, hurry up!"
Soon, bags of fresh red blood filled the medical tray beside him, and Enzo's face turned pale.
Only when he confirmed that Nadine was out of danger did he finally agree to lie on the operating table and be pushed into the emergency room.
Alyssa couldn't bear to watch anymore and turned to leave.
She knew that Enzo loved Nadine, loved her more than his own life.
If she had realized this earlier in her previous life, her ending wouldn't have been so miserable.
Now, in this life, she changed the course, but Nadine still had a car accident.
And the root cause of all these events was her love letters and portraits.
But she really didn't know how they spread. She had torn them all up.
Now it seems that the only person who could privately keep her love letters and then make them public is Nadine.
But why did she do this? She was already with Enzo.
She couldn't understand, and she didn't dare to think too much.
She drifted through three desolate days at home, and Enzo was discharged from the hospital. The first thing he did upon returning was to order the bodyguard to throw her into the Cold Storage.
The moment she was thrown in, the bone-chilling cold instantly swept over Alyssa's entire body.
Looking at the whiteness around her, Alyssa let out a mirthless chuckle.
She couldn't remember how long it had been since she felt cold.
Since she accidentally fell into the icy lake when she was young, her body became very weak, and she became particularly afraid of the cold.
So the villa was always heated, like spring all year round.
But now, Enzo was punishing her in this way, punishing her for lingering affections for him and indirectly hurting Nadine.
Alyssa instinctively curled up her body, hoping to get some warmth, but it was useless. She could only struggle to let out moans.
The servants outside the Cold Storage couldn't bear to watch and whispered: "Ms. Camden, you should take the initiative to apologize to Mr. Slater. Otherwise, your body won't be able to withstand it..."
Alyssa's eyes suddenly turned red.
She was wrong in her previous life, so she accepted it.
But in this life, she didn't do anything wrong, so what apology is there for her to make?
Moreover, Enzo's heart was now entirely on Nadine and wouldn't be willing to listen to her explanation.
The intense cold wind blew towards her from all directions, quickly forming a layer of frost on Alyssa's eyelashes.
She felt her heartbeat slowing down and her thoughts becoming increasingly blurred...
Finally, she slowly closed her eyes and sank into oblivion.
