Chapter 16
Isabella kept staring at that message again and again.
She knew Nora had sent it just to get under her skin, but still, it stung.
She yanked out the SIM card, broke it in half, and chucked it into the trash.
The next morning, Isabella took a cab to the train station.
As soon as she got out, she doubled over and threw up.
And just her luck—Nora happened to see it.
Nora had just been discharged that day. She was in the car with their mom, waiting at a red light, and when she glanced outside, she spotted Isabella.
She's throwing up like that?
Nora frowned, turned to their mom. "Mom, didn't you say Isabella already got forced into an abortion at the hospital that day?"
Her mom nodded. "Yep. Desmond's friend was right there watching the whole time. It's legit."
"Francis?" Nora's heart skipped a beat.
"I don't know his name, but he wore those gold-rimmed glasses. Pale, kind of bookish looking."
That was definitely Francis.
Nora's gaze followed Isabella's fading figure heading toward the stat
