Seeing Jasmine react like that, Lucas knew she'd misunderstood. He didn't have time to explain, so he just grabbed her and rushed toward the hospital.
Meanwhile, Desmond and Isabella had headed there too.
Inside the car, Isabella stared at Desmond, her tone sharp. "You knew all along, didn't you?"
"I just found out a few minutes before you."
"Then why didn't you say anything sooner?"
"Would it have made a difference?" Desmond asked calmly.
That shut her up.
She couldn't believe the girl she spent the night with turned out to be the one Lucas was desperately searching for. No wonder his reaction was so weird back then. And here she was, thinking it was just Lucas admiring someone. How ridiculous.
Hopefully, her words didn't mess things up between them too badly.
