Chapter 239
Leroy's voice was cold, his words cutting like ice. Scarlett clenched her fists, her nails digging into her palms.
"You don't need to remind me that we're divorced," she said, her voice steady despite the storm raging inside her. "I've never once forgotten."
With that, she closed her eyes, signaling the end of the conversation. Leroy sighed inwardly.
The rest of the drive was silent. Scarlett finally parted her lips to speak as they neared the villa, only to spot Cedric standing at the gate. Her brows furrowed, and she instinctively glanced at Leroy.
"Well, I've done my part. I'll be going now," Leroy said, pulling the car to a stop, already reaching for the door handle.
"Wait," Scarlett said, grabbing his wrist. "I need to speak with him."
Leroy glanced out the window.
Cedric was holding a bouquet. Leroy chuckled though his eyes remained locked on Scarlett. He was waiting to see if she would take them.
Scarlett strode over to Cedric without hesitation.
