Chapter 16 She Could Not Be Blamed

Blanche looked at the diamond ring on her finger, and a smug smile flashed briefly on her lips. She said, “Zephy hasn't come back yet. I'll take you out for a walk.” “I saw him come back when I was coming up, but I don't think I need to see him.” After she saw through everything, Jade no longer felt as horrible as she did in the past. She took off the hot ring on her finger and put it on Blanche's palm. "He bought it. I have no need to keep it around anymore. Remember to give it to him for me.” As Blanche watched Jade leave, her expression turned dark. In the end, she took her ring off her finger and put it in a velvet box. Jade’s was placed beside it. When the express delivery arrived, she went to get it. She saw a ring in a velvet box, one that was actually Tiffany's. Unable to resist it, she brought it out and wore it, but she had not expected Jade to come in right when she wore it. She did not say that the ring was a gift to her from Zephaniah, but she chose not to speak. She just had Jade continue with the misunderstanding. She could not be blamed. Jade led Taylor out of Concord Building and gave Mister Whittle a call. “Mister Whittle, please send someone else. I'm not suited for negotiation, and I don't want the money anymore.” Before Mister Whittle could speak, she hung up. Jade was only in Concord Building for ten minutes, but it felt like she had been there for a century. Taylor noticed Jade was very sad. She came and hugged her. Her soft little hand touched the corner of her eye. “It’s okay. I’m fine.” Jade smiled, but her voice quivered a little. “Are you hungry? Shall we go grab lunch?” Taylor nodded. Jade took Taylor to Pizza Hut. Taylor was a picky eater, but she did not seem to dislike this kind of restaurant. She could accept eating pizza and pasta. The restaurant was crowded at noon. Quite a number of people waited to be seated in the waiting room. It was quite noisy. When the meal was served, Jade had no appetite. Taylor handed her a piece of pizza. Jade forced a smile. However, she could not eat the pizza despite the fact that it was already on her lips. Even the slight scent of seafood made her feel nauseous. She covered her mouth and ran to the bathroom. Jade had not eaten anything since morning, so all she emptied from her stomach was water. Jade knew her body. She could almost guess what this abnormal nausea was. Her face turned paler by the second. After Taylor finished eating, Jade went to the hospital with her. She got herself registered and held her urine. The two lines on the early pregnancy test pierced her eyes. She felt her body sway, and she almost fell down. The nurse glanced at Taylor, who was beside Jade, and said with a smile, “It's pretty good for you to have a second child with a daughter who is already this big. Remember to pay attention in the future and try not to wear high highs for the sake of the baby.” “Thank you.” Jade slumped on the bench and remained dazed for a long time. Zephaniah did not want children, and he had always been careful in bed. How could this happen? This was so ridiculous. She wanted to have children, but she and Zephaniah were getting a divorce now. She could not let her child be born without a father’s love. Zephaniah called. “Where are you? I’ll pick you up.” When Jade heard his voice, she burst into tears and spat out, “Zephaniah, I want a divorce! I don't want anything else, just a divorce. If you don't agree, let’s meet in court.” After she hung up, Jade blocked his number and on WhatsApp. The only weapon Zephaniah relied on to keep this marriage going on was that she loved him, that was all! Jade felt better after she cried. She wiped off her tears and took Taylor to the airport. She bought the tickets and went back to South City at half past seven that same night. Easton had not come back yet, so Jade took Taylor back to her mother's place and told her that Taylor was Easton's daughter. She also told her that she borrowed two million and five hundred thousand dollars from him. After learning more about Taylor's life from Jade, her mother sighed. “Sigh... Easton has an unlucky life. If he is busy, I can help babysit his daughter. After all, we borrowed so much money from him.” “It’s fine. I also teach Taylor to write occasionally.” After talking a little with her mother, Jade went straight to the main topic.. “Mom, I'm going to divorce Zephaniah. I was living an unhappy life, and even you saw it. It’s really embarrassing for me.” She hid the news of her pregnancy. After all, she did not want the baby.
