Chapter 7
The room fell silent.
Julian's face twitched before he let out a dry, brittle laugh.
"What a convincing act."
He braced himself on the back of the chair and forced himself to stand. His eyes blazed with desperate denial. "Vivian, you really went all out just to keep this lie going.
"Where did you hire these extras from? You even managed to get yourself helicopters. I'm guessing you've borrowed from every loan shark you could find, huh?"
At his words, Bianca, who had been scared stiff, seemed to grab hold of a lifeline and snapped back to her senses.
She rushed up to Darren, phone raised high, and nearly shoved the camera into his face.
"Guys! Guys! Don't be fooled! This is all fake!" she screeched.
Spittle flew everywhere as she screamed. "I knew it! This woman can't even afford decent clothes. How could she possibly know people like this?
