Chapter Four - I'll see you at your wedding

Dante's POV The surprise on her face was amusing. It took me back to our younger days and for a moment, I just looked at her imprinting her face into my memories. "What are you doing here?" she asked when she finally got out if her shock. I shrug casually. "I own this place" "Shit!" she muttered and starts reaching for her things but I stop her, grabbing her wrist loosely. "Join me upstairs, we have better drinks and the view is better there" "I'm supposed to just follow you because????" "I am inviting you to the VIP section and giving you access, people pay millions to be there" she rolls her eyes at me. "I am just going to go home" "Come on. Just a drink and then you can go home" the wheels were spinning in her head. I could see the debate in her eyes. "Fine. Just a drink" I stand up and offer her my hand but she ignores my gesture. "Lead the way" she orders but goes ahead to walk in front of me, giving me a view of her back and very delectable ass. Regina Costano was sexy, there was no doubt and if she wasn't a pain in the ass. I'd have been actively working to get her into my bed for the night. The men at the private elevator try to stop her but when they spot me and I nod, they let her through. Regina studies the interior of the elevator getting lost in her thoughts and I think she forgets I'm in here with her. I watch her and I remember the my questions when I realized she was in my club. She had gone off the grid five years ago. Never attended any of her family events much less the others held in other families. From the last time I had bothered to check, she was running a business, sponsored by her father. So much for freedom. The ding from the elevator brought her out of her thoughts. I didn't offer her my hand this time, I took her hand in mine and we walked into the VIP section. It was mostly empty as I liked it but still too crowded to have a conversation with Regina so we headed to the more exclusive section. The loud music didn't get here instead it was soft classical music. She slumps into the comfy chair with a sigh and I pour her a drink. "Clubs should be this quiet" she muttered as I hand the glass to her. "Did you add anything to it" she shakes the glass and puts her nose close to the rim "If I wanted to drug it or kill you. I'll put a bullet in your head" I say pointedly and she scowls. "Yeah.... remind me of all the evil things you guys do here. It is the main fucking reason I never go to all these high end clubs owned by the likes of you" "So why are you here?" she regard me for a moment. "I needed a drink" "You could have had a drink in the comfort of your home" "I don't keep drinks in my home.... I don't like to drink" "I do not mean the rented home you live in. The Costano estate is on this side yes?" she doesn't respond. "You're too concerned about why i'm here. If I had known it was your club, I'd never have come" I laugh. "I'm only curious. Feel free to come whenever you want. I'll give your pictures to the guard. They'll let you up here whenever" she muttered something under her breath but sighs and leans into the couch. "How is your little business going?" "If you know about the business, then you must definitely know how it's doing" Oh, that mouth. She hasn't changed a bit. She knew how to run it very well. "You must be getting ready for your engagement party" that catches her attention and she sits upright. "You know about that?" I gave her a pointed look. Was there really anything that went by without my knowledge? "What do you plan to do about your business when you get married?" "I am not getting married" she shouts at me with a glare. Who would be happy to get married to Tomas Arcane really? He was a walking bag of bad decisions and reasons nobody should ever get married. "And whatever happens to my business is not your concern?" "I want to steal it off you"she glares and I shrug. "It's doing well and I like profitable ventures" "Please" she scoffs. "You'll run it down in less than a month" I say nothing but my elevated brow asks the question. "You know nothing about design" "I can hire people" "Yeah. Like whoever did this" she gestures to the room. "I think they did a good job" she nods, smiling sarcastically. "Of course. That happens when you really don't know anything about designing. Stick to murdering and trafficking, that's your specialty" "You won't be able to keep it anyways. I'm giving you a chance to save it before your husband gets his paws on it" "I have no husband" "Not yet" "But pretty soon. Your marriage is going to happen whether you like it or not" "Not if I stop it" "But what can you do really? I hope your time away hasn't made you forget what life truly is like on our own side?" "How could I ever forget. But you know what....I won't sit back and let my life be decided on like that" "It's for your family" "And it's none of your fucking business. How could you even sit there and talk so simply. You have sisters and one day, a daughter. Will you ever let them get married to someone as despicable as Tomas?" I say nothing and she scoffs. "That's what I thought. You're quick to give advice on my fucking life. When you cannot live it. It was a mistake coming up here with you" I say nothing and just drink from my glass as she grabs her things. "I hope we never see each other again" she shouts loudly and disappears but I smile. I'll be seeing her at her wedding.
