"Callie." 
Callie was still in shock. But then, Nelson walked over to her, grabbed her hand and said, “Didn’t you get off work already? Why aren't you heading home?"
Callie tried to pull away, but he tightened his grip and turned to the scar-faced man. 
"What do you want?"
The man sneered, didn't take him seriously seeing that Nelson was by himself.
"What, trying to play the hero? Let's see if you have what it takes." 
With that, the scar-faced man took out a club and swung it towards Nelson.
Nelson squinted his eyes, and caught it just an inch away from him. Then in one fluid motion, Nelson threw out his fist and punched the man right in the face. 
There was a dull thud, then the scar-faced man cried out in pain, covering his face with his hands.
It all happened so fast that no one saw clearly how Nelson did it, and they were shocked.
"You... you ambushed me!" The man accused, pointing 

Callie sighed in relief, but she was also curious about where Nelson headed. 
But then she shook her head, and reminded herself that his whereabouts was none of her business. He was just her nominal husband.

The next morning, to avoid an awkward encounter with Nelson, Callie got up extra early and went to the office. But then she ran into Mr. Montes instead.
"Good morning, Mr. Montes," she greeted him with a smile. 
"Morning."
He nodded, looked her up and down and said, "Come with me tonight to a dinner meeting. Dress nicely. We’ll meet business partners, and we can't be remiss."
Callie was surprised. "Me?"
"Who else then?" Mr. Montes suddenly became impatient. "It's just a dinner. If you don't want to, then don't work here anymore!"
Callie hesitated. 
She didn't really want to attend company dinners, but if she said no…
She looked at the expression on Mr. Montes' face, and thought to 

Everyone was dumbfounded.
Never had they expected that someone as gentle as Callie would explode like this.
"You... Callie, you wait and see, I'll make you pay for this."
With these harsh words, the colleague left in a huff.
The onlookers dispersed as well.
Litzy tugged on Callie's arm, looking worried.
"Lorelai is well connected. I’m afraid she’ll make things difficult for us."
Callie didn't think too much about it. Her philosophy had always been not to start conflicts unless provoked. Besides, Lorelai's earlier words were indeed over the line.
"She was the one who started it. It's fine, let's get back to work,” Callie comforted Litzy and continued with her work. After this incident, the office gossip seemed to have quieted down, and no one was talking about Callie behind her back anymore.
Callie finally had some peace.
In the afternoon, after completing her tasks, Callie stretched and realized it was time to leave.
"Callie, I'm heading out,” Litzy said goodbye to her.
Callie waved her hand. "See you tomorrow."
After Litzy left, Callie also turned off her computer and headed downstairs. But just as she stepped outside the building, Callie found herself surrounded by a group of people.
The leader was a dark-skinned man with a scar on his face.
"Are you Callie?"
Callie took a deep breath to calm herself.
"Who are you? What do you want?"
The man sneered, "You're the one who bullied my sister?"
As he was about to step forward, Callie's face remained calm, showing no fear, and she asked, "Who's your sister?"
"Don't play dumb with me. You know exactly what you did. I'm here to warn you: if you touch my sister again, my fists aren't just for show."
He waved his fists to Callie as he threatened her.
Meanwhile, Nelson overheard some colleagues gossiping about Callie as soon as he stepped out of his office, and it caught his attention.
"That bitch dared to slap me. Even my parents have never hit me. This time, I'll make her pay."
"Calm down, Lorelai. Didn't you ask your brother to deal with her?"
"Yes, I told him not to have any mercy. Teach her a good lesson so she'll remember." A fierce look glinted in Lorelai's eyes.
The other colleague noticed Nelson and got startled.
"Mr. Oconnor."
Lorelai also greeted him nervously, "Hello, Mr. Oconnor."
Nelson walked past without a word. Lorelai let out a deep breath after he was gone.
"He didn't hear what we said, did he?"
"Don't worry. Even if he did, what does it matter? Do you think Callie is someone Mr. Oconnor would care about?"
Hearing this, Lorelai relaxed.
Nelson's expression turned grim as soon as he stepped into the elevator. As it went down slowly, he felt an inexplicable sense of anxiety.
He frowned and couldn't understand where this feeling came from.
The elevator reached the ground floor before he could figure it out. He stepped out and sure enough, saw several men surrounding Callie.
Nelson dialed a number on his phone as he walked towards her.
"I'm going to teach you a lesson today so you can learn," the scar-faced man said.
But a man's voice suddenly sounded from behind.

"Callie."
