Callie's hand froze on his neck, not daring to move. She reluctantly pulled back. "I... I wasn't trying to do anything to you. You had something dirty on you, and I was just helping you wipe it off..."
A blatant lie.
Nelson stared at her intently.
Callie was extremely nervous and instinctively tried to back away, but he grabbed her wrist and turned it over to look at it.
"It seems you have a lot of free time. Not only do you like being a caregiver, but you're also keen on donating blood," Nelson teased lightly, though his tone carried an undercurrent of anger.
Callie couldn't argue back. She turned her head. "Saving a life is more meritorious than building a seven-story pagoda."
"Are you determined to go against me?" He quickly retorted, forcibly turning her head to make her look at him.
"Nelson, is it wrong to find my own way?"
Since he wanted her to look at him, she did so calmly.
