Chapter 99 The Tie
Callie gritted her teeth. Why did she hear sarcasm in that statement?
"I can't thank you enough, Mr. Oconnor ."
Nelson pinched the cigarette box and walked up the stairs.
As he disappeared from sight, Callie asked Nancy to put the other box of ice cream back. She couldn't finish so much ice cream and was saving it for the next time when Nelson lost to her.
But it was really sweet and Callie immediately forgot about her troubles.
Callie did not have to go to work now and slept until she woke up naturally. Since she had an injury, the maids did not dare to wake her.
Last night she had too much ice cream and kept having to go to the toilet. So she did not sleep well at all. When she woke up from her sleep, she was to find that it was already evening. She stretched herself and went downstairs. She saw Nelson sitting on the sofa, wearing black-rimmed glasses, and working on his laptop.
