Chapter 11: Margie Arrival

Jules opened his eyes slowly, and he saw it wasn't morning yet. But, he couldn't tell what the time was since the alarm clock was at the other side of the nightstand. Also, he was feeling too lazy to swivel his head to glance at the wall clock. Perhaps, it was midnight because the moonlight was at its peak already, and the brightness illuminated the room. A smile formed on his face as he glanced at the warm body cuddled next to him. She was bare and had slept soon after their lovemaking last night. Jules twirled a white strand of hair that was spread on the pillow in his finger, and he couldn't stop grinning at how her body moulded perfectly into his. He had never gone back to the same bed again with a woman because he was often seen with different people and the first time he met Janice, he hadn't stopped thinking about her. Jules doubted if he would ever stop. He sucked in a deep breath as her hand clutched his member. She stroked it for a while, then squeezed, but not hard enough for it to ache. Jules let out a disappointed sigh when she let go of her grip on it. He assessed her as she tossed about in the bed, her lips parted and a sigh slipped out of it. Her lustrous lashes fluttered against her ruddy cheeks, and for a moment he thought she was going to come awake. Janice rolled to her side, then scooted into him letting her derriere smack his member. Jules groaned as the little devil came alive, and it twitched against her shapely backside. Janice moaned, and Jules doubted if it was due to his hardness that was next to her backside or maybe she was having a naughty dream. He was certain he wouldn't be getting any sleep tonight with the way she had curled into him. She wiggled her bottom once more, and he would have thought it intentional if not that she was asleep. He contemplated on whether to cover himself so he wouldn't make the mistake of wanting to penetrate her since that was what was on his mind. "No, I can't do that." He groaned whilst glaring at his erection. Slowly, he shut his eyes, willing himself to sleep as he listened to the steady rhythm of her heartbeat. Janice jerked awake when she felt the cold wind that entered through the window caressed her skin. She shivered whilst wrapping the duvet around her body. Her gaze travelled to the part of the bed Jules had slept on, and she noticed it was empty. But, it was warm as she felt it. It means he got up not quite long, she thought. The event of last night flashed back into her mind, and she marvelled at how perfect they were together in the bedroom. She might loathe him for pushing marriage on her because of the baby on the way, but she couldn't deny the sexual attraction and tension between them. Just like last night, she hadn't hesitated when he had discarded his clothes and walked to where she was in the bathtub. Janice glanced at the door as it opened, Jules entered the room with a tray filled with food. She gaped, and her mouth watered as he placed it in front of her. "Are you trying to stuff me till I get fat, sir?" "You need to look healthy and fit." He said. Jules plucked out a piece of spicy baked salmon and hoisted it to her mouth. "What is this?" Janice hesitated, frowning. "Eat it. I'm sure it'll be your next favourite because mother said salmon is good for the baby." "Okay," Janice said. The flavour burst on her tongue and Janice's eyes swivelled into her head as she savoured the taste. "This tastes so good." "I didn't expect that." She murmured, staring at him. "I know you'll like it," Jules grinned. "Why are you all dressed up?" She said, eyeing the suit he donned. "I have a meeting to attend in London," He answered, glancing at his wristwatch. Janice creased her brows as she assessed him. "Shouldn't you employ someone that will take care of it since you'll be the king soon?" "I thought Royal wasn't allowed to tend to mundane things, especially the kings." Jules shrugged, "I'll create my rules." Janice shook her head as she stared at him. "I know you are hardheaded." "Not as you, Madame." Jules retorted. "I'm not hard-headed," She murmured, then added. "How long will you be there?" "Two days." "Two days? The next day will be our wedding!" She exclaimed. "Why can't you use just a day there?" "Are you missing me already?" He inquired with a raised brow. "Keep hoping. I mean this room is too big for one person anyway." Janice glanced around the room and she shivered as she imagined only her sleeping in it. Jules chuckled as he glanced at her. He was glad the thought of him being far away made her frightened. "Okay, that is fine. Don't miss me too much." "Who said anyone is missing you? I'm happy you're leaving already." Janice said, waving him off with her hands. Jules shook his head as he left the room. Regardless of what she said, Janice knew she was lying. She was going to miss him, and the thought of her sleeping in this vast room alone at night frightened her. She wondered how she would cope with him being away. It wasn't long when Janice went to the drawing-room after she was summoned by the queen that she noticed another presence there. "Margie!" She exclaimed whilst scampering to hug the other woman. She had barely seen anyone to interact with since she came here, and her presence changed everything for her. Janice admired the light blue crystal tiara that was placed on her hair, and the beige long-sleeved midi dress she donned. The dowager queen cleared her throat and each woman drifted apart. "I see you are quite enthusiastic about seeing her, I am too and I'll be happy to teach you all you need to know before your wedding and coronation." The queen said in a formal tone. "My coronation?" Janice implored, staring at the woman. "I presume he didn't tell you, you would be queen consort when you get married to him since he would be king?" Janice's brows creased further as she nodded her head. Perhaps Jules had forgotten about it, that was the reason he had failed to mention it to her. "I had forgiven him when he brought an uncouth lady. I didn't know he was still thinking with his libido." Janice blushed at the term the dowager queen had used in addressing her. "I would overlook this mistake again." The dowager queen said, "And I would be pleased to teach you what you need to know." Both ladies nodded their heads whilst assessing the woman in front of them. Margie felt her friend's hand squeezed hers as they sat on the red button tufted sofa. She nodded to what the dowager queen was saying whilst discretely gazing around. Margie had been charmed as soon as she alighted the helicopter that had flown her here. The castle was just like everything she had imagined when she was a little kid- From the five elegant round towers that surrounded it, and the fairly low massive walls made of blue stones. The windows were scattered around the wall in a seemingly random fashion, and Margie was awed by the beauty. "First and foremost," Margie snapped out of her thoughts as the dowager queen began. "The dos and don'ts of being in the royal family." The dowager queen stated, ticking the book in her hand. Janice let her mind wander off from her teaching as she glanced at the drawing-room for the first time. She was a book lover, and it wasn't a surprise when her eyes lighted when she sighted some classic novels- her favourite genre- on the floating shelf. "Janice!" The dowager queen snapped. Janice jerked whilst she stared at her. "You should always listen even if you are uninterested. Act like you are, and it's part of the rules." She instructed. "May I know what is so important that makes your mind drift off?" Janice shook her head whilst blushing, "I'm sorry your Majesty." The older woman tutted, shook her head then continued. Janice sighed as she sat up straight on the sofa whilst striving to listen to the queen's teaching, but her mind kept drifting to something else. She wondered if she would be able to answer any question by the end of the day when she was done with the teaching.
