Chapter 239 Where Does Harry Get His Confidence?
Harry opened the paper bag of breakfast pastries he'd brought and handed a croissant to Cleo. "Here. Eat a little."
Cleo took the croissant, bit off a small piece, then looked up at Harry with a blissful smile. She seemed to like it.
Relieved, Harry gently patted her head. When he caught Catherine's displeased look, he said softly, "These were made at home. They're not unhealthy."
He picked up another croissant and offered it to Catherine. "You should eat something too."
Catherine lowered her gaze. The bruises on his fingers were very obvious. She looked away and didn't take the croissant. "I'm not hungry," she said indifferently.
Harry hummed softly, withdrew his hand, and took a bite himself.
His mind suddenly flashed to the image from the night before. Blood instantly surged toward his lower abdomen. In the blink of an eye, he was hard.
He lost all interest in eating. Forcing himself not to think about Catherine, he lowered his voice and asked Cleo, "How is it?"
Cleo nodded
