Chapter 13. Disappearing Act
A million thoughts run through my mind at full pe< do I have enough deodorant on? Is my hair still as sleek as it was when I piled on the product? Is the push up bra holding up? All of a sudden, I'm micro analysing every inch of myself. I thank my lucky stars Nora subjected me to all those intrusive beauty treatments.
Dante begins to drift through the crowd, as if he's stalking me. That fresh, woodsy scent starts to flood my senses, blocking out the overflow of countless colognes and the light stench of body odour. I find myself visibly trembling, the anticipation driving me insane. Now is not the time to become a sweaty heap of nerves. I catch brief glimpses of his broad frame, moving agilely through the crowd.
