Chapter 134
Vivienne's POV
I groggily opened my eyes, and the first thing I saw was a white ceiling. Memories of what happened before I passed out rushed back to me in a flood, like a dream. I shut my eyes again and slowly raised my hand to touch my cheek, only to feel the roughness of bandages.
"Vivienne, you're awake!"
Hearing the voice, Alexander quickly walked to my bedside and sat down. "How do you feel?"
There was a buzzing sound in my ears, and all I could see were his lips moving. I instinctively asked, "What did you say?"
As soon as I spoke, my throat felt dry, hoarse, and painfully raw.
Alexander immediately brought over a glass of water, gently lifting my head to help me sip a few mouthfuls.
"I asked, how do you feel now? Is there anywhere that hurts?"
He placed the glass on the table, leaned in closer, and almost whispered in my ear.
I turned my head to look at him, somewhat puzzled. "I'm fine, why are you leaning so close?
