Chapter 14 Let's meet our CEO

Everyone's eye went to the stage. Loud and long sound of clap was heard. Even Jessica and Anyee had calmed down and they were also focused on the stage. " Today we had performance of different department of the company and some other performance from the brach office from city B and D. " Nick said smiling at us. "But first, let us all give a big hand of applause for the CEO of Golden Company Mr. Willis Gold . Everybody I want it loud and long. " Rosy smiled at everyone. Then Mr. Gold raised his hand and take a quick look around. Then he got back to his intial position. He was normal, his activity was normal, the party, people, everything was normal but not me. I don't know what was happening ? When Mr. Gold looked back, just a sight of him make my heartbeat this faster. I think if my mouth was a bit bigger, my heart would have came out in my hands. I had never felt this before. I just feel like looking at him nonstop. I pressed my chest with my right hand to calm down. What is happening with me?? Why am I behaving this way? I withdraw my gaze from Mr. Gold and looked down to the floor. "Are you okay?? " Any hold my shoulder and lift my head up. "Why are you so hot?? Do you have a fever again? " "Do you need to go to hospital or something? "Rick asked in a concerned voice. "No, No. I'm fine. It's just hot here. " I said fanning my face with my hand. "Are you sure?? " Anyee asked further. "Yeah" "Someone needs oscar award for pretending. Everyone is fine but someone.... " Ahe said looking at me with disdain. "What is your... " I hold Anyee's hand shook my head. She sure was furious and wanted to fight. But I don't want to create a scene. She looked at me and sighed. Ahe smiled at us mockingly. But I ignored her and looked back at the stage. I have maybe missed some part. ".......Vice president of Golden Company Ms. Bella Scultz" Rosy said with excitement. Bella who was absent till now appeared the left side of the stage and went towards the CEO's table. Along with her was Olivia closely following her and two other mens along with them. When they reached the table, Bella and Olivia bowed their head a bit for Mr. Gold. Mr. Gold gets up from his seat and went forward to hug the man who entered with Bella. "Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the the second young master of Roberts family, the CEO of Robert Group and best friend of our CEO, Mr. Samuel Roberts " I peeked at them they were all seated now. But Mr. Gold who was sitting in the middle had changed his seats. Now , i can see his face instead of his back. I feel good about it. "Let's start our event with a beautiful performance...." I wasn't able to focus on the stage. I was peeking at Mr. Gold again and again. He was laughing there. Olivia, Bella, Mr Gold and Samual were seated there. They were laughing and chatting. Suddenly i was curious about what they were laughing about? Sigh.. What am I thinking about ? He don't even know me. A few people were performing on the stage. Snacks and drinks were being served to us. I took drinks and snacks and everyone on our table followed me. We chatted and had our snacks. Everyone was enjoying the party. One after another performance was taking place as well as annual progress of each department was being shown. After some hours all the performance were done and party was eventually coming to an end. "Now, let's welcome Mr. Gold to the stage for his speech. " Rosy said. "Along with his speech our program tonight will be end officially. But you can still enjoy dancing and socializing with each other. " Nick said. "Or you can have your dinner too. " Everyone laughed at Rosy's remarks "Now, we'll be off. Mr. Gold stage is all yours. " Saying this Nick took Rosy's hand and take her down the stage. I move my eyes to Mr. Gold . He stood up and went towards stage. He took the mike in his hands. " Hello everyone. Thank you for coming here today. And thank you all for your efforts and hard work. You all are the reason that today our company is at this height. I hope you'll work hard in the future and take our Golden Company to a new height. Once again thank you all. Please enjoy your night. " He said this words with his deep and mesmerizing voice. He wasn't only handsome but his voice was so good too. After he gave the speech. He came down and went back towards his table. " let's eat something. I'm hungry " Rick said looking at us. "Yeah, let's go" Anyee also stood up. I didn't want to eat but i don't want to left alone either. "Are you two coming " i asked jasmine. "No, we are full. We need to keep balance of our food or else we'll put on weight like you guys " Jasmine said. "Who are you calling fat? " Anyee got furious at them. "of course you " Ahe smirked. Anyee stood up from her seat. She was really pissed off at that time. She was red from anger. When she was about to argue Rick hold her hand and dragged her towards the dining area. I also followed them. When we reach there Anyee pull her hand back from Rick's grip. "Why did you drag me here?? Don't you listened what did they said to me? Do you also think I am fat?? " Anyee wanted to speak further but Rick cupped her face and looked at her eyes. "You are the most beautiful girl in the whole world. You're perfect just the way you are. It doesn't matter what they said . " Anyee instantly calmed down. Her face became redder. "I didn't saw anything. I don't saw a couple. They weren't being lovey dovey. " I closed my eyes with my bith hands and turned my back to them. "Who is being lovey dovey. Don't talk nonsense. " Anyee hit my shoulder. "Ouch that hurts " "Alright ladies let's have our dinner first and then you guys can fight if you want. And i will be referee " Rick joked. And three of us laughed at his jokes. Then we have our dinner happily. I didn't take much because i wasn't that hungry. After food we came back towards our table. Jasmine and Ahe were not there. They were on dance floor . " Let's go and toast our seniors. It is good to know them. And we'll head home in a while. What do you say? " Rick suggested. " And no dancing?? " Anyee looked unsatisfied. " You just eat like pig. Can you move your belly now " Rick teased Anyee. " Shut up idiot " Anyee scolded Rick. I smiled and looked around. Then I saw our department manager Mr. Nolan Reid. "let's go to Mr. Reid. I need to thank him. He was the one who took me to hospital when i fainted at the company last time. " i said. "What you fainted ? When? Why? " Rick asked me. " The day we planned to go for ice cream. She said she'll be fine with some rest. And i went to canteen alone but when i came back only her mobile phone was there. " Anyee said. "Is it something serious? " Rick said "i know a good doctor.. " "no, no. I'm fine. It was just fever and some stress . I'm totally fine now. " i reassured him. " Then its good. " He said smiling. Then we took drinks and went to Mr Reid. "Mr Reid " i went forward " thank you for taking me to hospital that day. I toast you this for your kindness. Be assure I'll pay you back soon. " i raise my drink and bow my head. And drink a little of wine. "Are you OK now? " he asked back. "yes, Mr Reid. I'm fine. " "Mr Reid, I'm Anyee Smith a friend of her. We work together. Thank you for saving her. I toast you for your kind heart. " Anyee raised her drink and bow then she gulp down the drink. "Hello sir. I'm Rick Edward. I toast you for helping our friend." he also raised his wine and bowed. Then he drank a mouthful of wine. "Aren't you secretary of HR manager??" Mr. Reid asked. "yes, yes sir. How do you know me? " Rick asked with excitement. " I saw you once with Melisa" Rick nodded. Then his cell phone rang . He took out his phone and looked at us " you guys enjoy the night. I'll take this call " he said. "Sure sir" three of us bowed our head. He went to a side to receive the call. Pheww... Three of us sighed. "Done socializing. Let's go back" i said . And i really meant it. I don't like socializing. I feel pressured. "No. Not yet let's meet our CEO first. It's a waste if we don't meet him today. After that we'll head home. Ok? " said Rick
