Chapter 2 welcome home

Ethan Andrews "Listen to me Ethan!I didn t mean to do that. Please listen to me."-she said. I push her and her parents are also kneeling. "Please, don t file a case against our daughter. "I will be selling this house and I am giving you a whole day to pack you things. And you Tyra? You will never have a single penny from me. I trusted you and do whatever you said that affects my relationship to my family but this?! I will never forgive you."-I said. I took my things out of the house and drive my car on the hotel where my parents are. My sister knew that they ll stay here for a little longer and wait until our divorce will be granted. At the hotel, my mom is talking to my little sister. "Do you want to talk to your sister?" "Maybe next time mom. I m not feeling well." "Wait brother! You don t need to face me. Will you give me a sec? -she said. I stop and sit in front of mom and dad. "Speak, honey." "Remember that you used to sing this for me? I ll sing this for you."-she said. She starts to sing that song and I listen to her soft voice. "Brother, please smile for me. Mom, tell me if brother smiled."-she said. I end up smiling. "She did. But lonely." "I know that it was painful but remember that it wasn t your fault. Don t think that you failed to satisfy her and that made her cheat on you." "It s her choice. You never failed to satisfy her by buying everything she wants, spoil her and her family. You will never be a failure as a man. Just cry but remember that soon you will find a woman that will appreciate you and love you no matter what. Go back to us, leave all the pain in Paris and make a new start here in our country." "Amellie…"-I mumbled. "I ll cook your favorite food when you came back. I promise. Try to smile every time and cry when you want too, okay?"-she said. "Thank you."-I mumbled. "I have to go, I have an appointment. Take care okay? Love you all. Bye-bye."-she said. My mom put down the phone and look on me. "Your sister always think and pray that your doing fine and Tyra change her attitude and be a wife that you deserve. She s still the sweet girl that you used to remembers, son."-dad said. "An she misses you. She is just busy with her two courses that s why she can t make it here. When she learn what Tyra did, she wanted to flew her and smash that woman s face."-she said. Amellie Cruz "Are you okay, Amellie?" "Yes, I m sorry if I look like this. I m fine, I m just thinking about something." "Are you sure? You can share it with me." "It s okay, Asami. Lets go back,"-I said. We went back inside the campus. I m still waiting for the news from my parents. Weeks had passed and I got a message telling us that they re on their way back in our country. I smiled. "It looks like this will be a busy day." The maids starts to clean the mansion and nanny Susan helps me in cooking dishes for tonight s dinner. I will be giving them a bonus for making a double time today. "Thank you everyone. You can have some early dinner and I ll just take something in my room. Wait for me okay?"-I said. "Yes, ma am."-they said and I walk upstairs. I check my brother's room which is next to me. When I saw that it was well-cleaned, I took the money that I ll be giving to them. "200 dollars?"-they said. I smiled and nodded. "Thank you for the time that you spend today. I knew that you have done a double time work and this is my bonus. Go ahead and eat, You can go home after."-I said. They smiled. "Thank you ma am. This is a great help." I just smile and went upstairs to change and later on I will prepare the food all by myself. "Is there anything you wanted to say nanny Susan?"-I ask her because she s not leaving yet. "Nothing. I wanted to see the first child that I ve take care for but maybe by tomorrow. My grandkids are looking for me. They already text me." "They have been a sweet children. I already meet them once and actually I like them, nanny Susan, You can bring them here some other time. I ll bake cookies for them. And I m sure, Ethan wants to see you again too." "I m happy that he came back after years of his marriage but I m sad that he fails to protect his family. But that woman is someone who doesn t deserve him. She looks like someone who won t do any good for him." "And you guess it right, nanny Susan. I have been praying that she ll find a way to change but she never does. I guess that s her choice. She have lost her chance to have a great family with my brother." "I guess life has its own twist and turns. Before I forgot, I already took the muffins that you made for my grandchildren. Thank you, I have to go. See you tomorrow, Amellie."-she said. I nodded and she leave me here. I waited for a couple of minutes and then I saw their car. I smiled and went down. Ethan Andrews I took a deep sigh and went out on the car. The driver took the luggage out and we went inside the mansion. This place had never changed. Still warm and cozy. And this is my home, again. "Go and have dinner before you leave, Walter. We will take care of the luggage upstair." "Thank you Sir." "Here s your bonus anyway. We re sorry if you wait for us for an hour again." "No problem Sir. I ll be taking this to save up for my wife s delivery next month." "Just tell us, we will take care of the bill." "Thank you ma am. I ll ask help when I needed. Thank you, I ll go in the kitchen then." "Okay."-mom said. I look around. "Where is Amellie?" "She must be in her room studying again. That kid is like you. She is concentrating in her studies. This upcoming will be her final exam and next school year will be her last year in college." "I see. Let s knock the door and have dinner together. I want to see her again." "Let s change our clothes."-dad. When we get down, I saw a beautiful woman standing with her long sleeve clothes and a pair of slippers. She smiled. I look on the dishes. "Welcome home, guys!"-she said and hug my parents. "We re home, honey."-they said and hug her. "Thank you for coming home safe."-she mumbled. "Amel--" She suddenly grab my wrist and pulled me closer. She hugs me tightly and mumbled her words. "Welcome home, brother."-she said. The heck, what is this feeling? She smell s nice, her odor her shampoo, her softness and her warmth. Why it brings me butterflies in my stomach. No. No. No! This is just a jetlag. A jetlag. "I m home, Amellie." "Okay, let s eat!"-she said. She sits beside me and father sits on his chair. We started to eat. She put prawns in my plate. "You should eat more and live happily from now on. Release yourself from any types of stress." "Thank you."-I said. I am trying to stop myself from stammering. This is ridiculous. "How s everything?" "Their divorce is already been settled and we just made them feel what kind of life the prisoners had." "Before coming back, we already disclose the case." "I see. I hope she won t come here and make a seen. I can kick her ass off this place." "Don t worry, I won t let her."-I said. They nodded and she keeps on putting food in my plate even to mom and dad. She s indeed caring ever since. I can t sleep, I end up drinking a bottle of beers in the balcony. Our room is close in this place and mom and dad s room are on the east side of the house. "You said you re okay but your lying."-she stood up beside me. A cold wind of spring made her hair flew sideward and she looks stunning because of the moonlight s brightness. "I am still in the process. It s common to--" "If you re not okay then tell so. Drop the thought about it s normal to say that I m okay when someone is asking. That s stupid." "Straightforward, huh?" "I m sorry, Ethan."-she apologizes. Calling my name gives me warmth at this moment. "Your have changed a lot. Your no longer the sweet girl that I used to remember." "I m still me the last time I check. We haven t seen each other for years, since I started college and you get married we haven t see each other. The last time I remember that we ate together is the day before your wedding day." "I m happy at the moment but look where I am now. Broken, being cheated. Tell me, is this how girls do nowadays?"-I said in bitter tone. "No. Cheating is a choice. Decisions are being made by us, I believe in mistake and when you do then changed it and yourself as well." "Doing it once is a mistake and doing it twice is a taste and the third can be a habit. Cheating once is a mistake, the second one is a choice and doing it again is a sin. Giving second chances is for them to gain your trust again. Giving another chance is to let them correct their mistake. But giving another one you re a masochist." "That was really remarkable. You re indeed a grown-up ever since, Amellie." I pet her hair and she smiled on me. "You should go back in your bed, brother. I ll go back also, I still have an early class by tomorrow." "Okay. Good night little sister." "Good night."-she said. But she hugs me and caress my back and say something again. "You can do it, big brother."-she said and went back to her bed. I feel like her scent stayed in my nose. What is wrong with me? I feel like something is changed. Why I feel like she s no longer the little sister that I always take care off.. "Good morning mom and dad." "Good morning son, have a sit and let s have breakfast."-she said. I sit down. "Where s Amellie?" "She went to school already. She made this food before leaving. She cooks for breakfast and dinner, son. Just eat and she ll come home early because her class in until 2 pm."-father said.
