Chapter 34 There's No Resentment Without Love
"Why do I feel like he's staring at my car?" the driver muttered, sounding puzzled.
Talia glanced up. "I doubt it."
"No, he's looking right at my car. Did I scratch his car or something? That can't be. I'm a good driver."
"Did you see him when you pulled up earlier?" she asked.
"Yeah, he was already standing there in the rain. I picked you up, looped around the block, and he's still there. That's why I said he's nuts."
Talia took a slow breath to steady herself and turned her gaze forward. "Just keep your eyes on the road, please. Don't worry about him."
"Wait, he's coming this way!"
In that moment, Talia hated how the hospital entrance was always a traffic bottleneck. She wondered what he was going to do. Knock on her window? Yank open the car door? What would he even say?
There was nothing left between them. So what was he doing here?
