Chapter 79 Her Books Are Sold as Scrap
Thalia rolled her eyes. "I'm the woman of this house."
"Legally speaking, Talia still is," Lucien said flatly.
"That's only because she's dragging her feet and won't sign the divorce papers! Otherwise, we'd already be married by now!"
Lucien's tone turned colder. "Let me ask you something. Besides these personal belongings, what about her books?"
"You mean those on the bookshelf? I sold them for scrap."
"You!" His voice dropped several degrees.
"Yeah, those books were heavy and took up way too much space. I was going to toss them along with the rest of her stuff, but they were too much to haul downstairs. So, I called the recycling guy and sold them off."
Lucien actually laughed—though there was no humor in it. "You didn't even ask me? You just made that decision on your own?"
"Ask you?" Thalia sneered. "Since when did I ever need to ask you? You've been listening to me your whole life."
