Carol’s POV
I was able to leave the clinic the next morning and return to the guest room. it felt good to get out of bed, but I also still felt so exhausted. I hadn’t really slept last night because the words of my biological father kept replaying in my mind repeatedly.
He assured me that my Morgan would pay for the crimes she’d committed and that nobody would ever hurt me again. When I told Aiden about the conversation and how I believed King Bennet, he seemed to relax a little about my safety here. But he also didn’t like the idea of me staying here full-time.
I didn’t either, which was why I respectfully declined the King’s offer. However, I did agree to stay for another couple of days so that he could at least train me a little bit in my powers and teach me a bit about the life of a royal.
