Carol’s POV “You’ve never skated before?” Aiden asks, his brows raised to his hairline. He didn’t sound judgmental, just confused and taken aback by my admittance. I shake my head, biting my lower lip. “No,” I tell him honestly. “I’ve never had any opportunities to learn.” “But I’ve seen you on the ice before,” he says, cocking his head to the side. “When you give pep-talk in the middle of practice or tell us what we are doing wrong. You come out onto the ice to do that.” I nod. “But never in skates,” I tell him, pointing at my shoes. He follows my fingers to my shoes and then nods, realizing the truth. I had never truly skated before, at least not with real skates. I’ve only ever walked on the ice in my shoes that was hardly the same. I’ve always wanted to learn to skate; more importantly, since I’ve been working with the team, I wanted to learn how to actually play the game.
