Chapter 116
After Noah’s party ended, Noah insisted on dropping Lily home, but she was already too drunk. She could barely walk straight, so Lily didn’t argue much and quietly called a taxi for herself. She didn’t want to trouble Noah further.
When the taxi dropped her off in front of her apartment, the night was quiet. She swiped her card, opened the door, and stepped inside. But the moment she walked in, her steps froze.
The apartment lights were all on.
Her brows knitted together. She never left the lights on. And no one else had access to her place.
A wave of uneasiness washed over her. She glanced around, clutching her bag tighter. No… David doesn’t have my keys. I never gave him the password. Noah? Impossible, I just left her back at the club. Claire? No, she went out of town this morning.
So who could it be?
Her pulse raced as she slowly, cautiously stepped further inside. The apartment was spacious, with a second floor she had never once explored, but the sound wasn’t coming from upstairs.
